Originally from Minneapolis, Dean studied at the Aveda Institute and worked for Aveda for several years. Through his early years with Aveda his interest for editorial work and advanced education became a passionate focus. Growing restless in the Twin Cities he decided it was time to test his skill-set out west. The next 10 years were spent in Seattle, WA where He worked for Gene Juarez a renowned salon in the industry. He studied under the creative director Christophe Soltane and would become a senior stylist, platform and editorial artist, and advanced training educator. Seattle also fed his love for the visual arts and would go on to study photography at PCNW. He would exhibit several bodies of multimedia work in Seattle and Paris, and become the art curator to the downtown Gene juarez location. In 2008 Dean began working with the innovative upscale Salon Seven, where he has honed his skill with color, product knowledge and complete integration of the industry.
